There are clear guidelines in Islam regarding woman’s right, personal freedom, women empowerment. Islam strongly believe that right must be related to dignity, personal freedom must have a borderline, empowerment must be in line with the capability and without which anarchy, disorder, sexual harassment would become inevitable. Not only that Islam does not want women to be a consumer product mainly for the men directly, indirectly, consciously or subconsciously in the name of art, culture, aestheticism, progressiveness, empowerment and personal freedom. Because most of the slogan favoring woman’s right, empowerment is designed by men giving emphasis to achieve their (Men’s) sensual desire, business goal and enjoyment. In most of the cases, when all the sensual desires and financial benefit are extracted then a woman become simply a rotten matter to a man. This is very natural that a fox always want a hen to roam openly so that he could catch the hen easily.
Islam gives the highest priority to the physical security, chastity of a woman which is not possible to ensure when men and women make an unethical relationship and live together winch is not socially and lawfully recognized. If so continues then men and women must be reluctant to marry as well as to be a mother and upbringing of any child which would eventually be a huge threat to the existence of humanity.
Honor of a woman rests in modesty, respectable livelihood, but not in indecency and cheeky environment. If any adultery is committed on the basis of mutual understanding, then many of us do not treat it as crime. But whenever something happens against the will of a partner, especially woman, then we treat it as crime against women. But this is simply a double standard. Such kind of behavior or claims is very much frustrating.
Double standard and hypocrisy is prevailing everywhere. The same person who is raising voice against crime, injustice, rape, eve-teasing, sexual harassment is also, on the other hand, patronizing the root causes of those misconducts directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously and sometimes intentionally. Such type of double standard encourages criminal activities in the society and if it continues then crimes can never be rooted out from the society. But this is a whole truth that the root causes of sexual harassment, eve-teasing, rape, murder are universal. Those causes exist irrespective of time, place, manner, nation, culture or race.
There are three statuses of women, such as mother, wife and daughter. The status of a mother in Islam is just after God. It has also been declared by Mohammad that a mother should be honored three times higher than a father. He also declared that the heaven of a child rests under the feet of his or her mother. No one is permitted to misbehave even with the most culprit mother. Islam has also given strict guidelines how to behave with the daughter, sister and wife or any other female relatives and neighbors.
According to Islamic jurisdiction a woman is entitled to inherit property from her father, son and husband, whereas a man gets only from his father. Husband and son is fully responsible to maintain the livelihood of his wife and parents respectively. There are other provisions, too, in Islamic law which ensures financial security of a Muslim woman. A Muslim woman gets a substantial amount of money or property from her husband at the time of marriage. She has also a scope to get money or property from Wasiyat (Will) and Hiba (Gift).
As a rational being, if we think more logically being driven by our conscience we can never permit our daughter to live together with her boyfriend, to become pregnant at the teen age. It can also not be tolerable if we see my mother making adulteration with other man. In this case what would be answer to the question of personal freedom?
Islam thinks that Hijab is one of the most effective tools to protect a woman’s personal security, dignity and chastity. Because this is obvious that any type of precious or valuable think always packed with the appropriate packaging material and is handled with high care. So women wearing Hijab are comparatively safer and it is scientifically proven.
Islam gives permission to women to do job upholding their safety, security and dignity. Even a woman may join the battlefield (There are many evidences during the early ages of Islam) according to her ability and necessity being assigned to an appropriate assignment. Husband has no right in wife’s income and wealth. She can spend her money with full freedom.
This is a harsh reality that excessive and unnecessary exposure of women’s body, glamour and the demonstration of harmful human nature in the cinema by some greedy producers and directors creating adverse effects on human mind, especially on the teen-agers that are acting as a catalyst in sexual harassment, eve-teasing, rape, murder, vulgarism, abusion and some other things like that. If we investigate into the root causes behind most of the criminal offenses and misconducts taking place in this world, we would find that there is a presence of woman and money. Even vulgar lifestyle of a single woman could contaminate the whole global village. To be hundred percent honest none can deny this reality.
If we look into the human social history, we would find that there have been a certain portion of people who are always being blackmailed in the society emotionally or ideologically. If anyone raises voice against crime he or she then goes under the threat of corrupted and terrorist groups. If some people protest against vulgarism, adulteration they are termed as anti-progressiveness, anti-development and against free-thinking or personal freedom. On the other hand, if some people stand favoring justice and rule of law, they are neglected severely. If they protest against any injustice they are classified and colored as an opposition, conspirator or insurgent.
Some people consider the western world as their role model. But what is the reality in the western world? Crime, gun violence, adulteration and rape have been institutionalized there. Their family ties have been collapsed substantially where a significant number of people have no interest in marriage and in upbringing a child. But they prefer live together and to some extend single motherhood or fatherhood. Rape is not a news at all, vulgarism and adulteries are the open secret in many cases, number of teenage single mother is increasing alarmingly. Unfortunately some people take that scenario very easy. But think, if there is no marriage, no new generation and no family ties, no upbringing of children then what would be the fate of human civilization. As an outcome we are witnessing that parents are being murdered by their own children and children are being murdered by their own begotten mother or father.
Islam is a complete code of life nominated by Allah (SWT) at the very beginning of the creation of human being. It had started its journey in the hand of Adam and reached to the complete maturity in the hand of Mohammad (PBUH), the last and the greatest messenger of Allah (SWT). The body of a human being keeps growing until the age of 25 and during that growing period dresses of various sizes are required time to time. But from the age of 25 onward dresses of same size fit properly. Similarly through the revelation of the holy Quran as the last and complete constitution for the whole mankind-human being has been wrapped with such type of dress where there is no need of alteration of size, design and shape.
