thevices hiding in the human mind always try their best to misguide human being to the wrong path. On the contrary- conscience, obloquy, fear of being humiliated, shame, fine, imprisonment, capital punishment and above all fear of punishment of the believers in the life hereafter suppress those vices to a tolerable level. Greed is the source of all misconducts and injustices. Human being has a universal and spontaneous attraction towards power, money, property, beautiful men or women, beautiful home and new model cars. This exists more or less in all human being. Greed for money is the highest kind of greed. Because money can fulfill almost all materialistic desires of a human being that leads to recklessness and arrogance derived from that power of money.
Once upon a time people would hide their legal or illegal money in the pillow, kept in a jar and then put it in the pond, under the ground and more other hiding places. But in this modern age money is deposited confidentially at various types of banks in various locations. Due to materialistic advancement of human civilization even a single click or a signature could steal, hide or embezzle hundreds of millions of dollars. Those stolen black money could be converted into white through layering, placement and integration type of money laundering services. Moreover, the Swiss banks and many other offshore banks in various tax heaven zones are remaining vigilant for the proper safeguard of that money.
With that money some people have a dream to create a big bank balance in an offshore bank of the tax heaven zones or to build a beautiful duplex house in the second home. Some people wish to buy an entire island to be the inhabitant of that island. Some want to be the owner of mountain, lake. Some people want to be the alien being the inhabitant of other planet. Some people want to build various cities occupying river, cannel, paddy fields and wetlands.
We know that price and supply control the demand and this economic phenomenon is called the Elasticity of Demand. Similarly unfair greed has also elasticity depending on various factors and circumstances. In this case, the volume of money, possibility of being leaked and probability of escaping punishment are the main catalysts. Variations of those conditions and consequences control the scale of greed. At the same time subsequent crime and misconducts derived from greed also fluctuate depending on those factors. May be someone’s greed equals to 100 taka which is an indication that a person will not steal less than 100 taka despite there has been a chance to do so. Similarly someone’s greed equals to 200, some thousands, lacs or crores and so on and so forth. A person may be able to control the greed for Taka worth 1 lac, but might not for taka 5 lacs and if once could control the greed for 5 lack might not control for 20 lacs.

They try to maintain high social status beyond their capability. They send their sons and daughters to expensive English medium schools or abroad for higher study, try to buy luxurious cars, houses. For maintaining all those undeserving status under the pressure of family members or persuaded by greed most of them engage themselves in theft, bribe, fraud, forgery or embezzlement. Being the owner of such type of attitude many doctors then take extra money from the patient out of his or her helplessness, many teachers do not teach properly in the classes and make the students bound to go for private coaching, many businessmen do illegal business, such as smuggling, hoarding, excess profit and in this way deceive the consumers. Then all those persons lose their basic power of judgment to decide right or wrong. Similarly, many people try to enter some jobs in exchange of giving bribe worth hundreds of thousands of money where there is a huge opportunity of illegal income. The more chances of getting huge illegal income, the more shall be the amount of bribe.
When the bating money is higher than match fees, sponsor money and salary then many sportsman or players engage themselves into match fixing having a dream to become rich overnight. Similarly, many athletes take illegal drugs for uplifting their performance or skills. Recently a powerful county has been accused of indulging their athletes for taking drugs and consequently many of their athletes could not take part in many events of Rio Olympics.
The inevitable and universal mutual attraction of men and women can also be categorized in various classes. Somebody may not be attracted to fall in love, to marry or to build an extramarital affair when a man or woman is not so beautiful, meritorious or wealthy. But if that man or woman is so desirable in terms of social status, education and wealth, if it is possible keep their extramarital affair hiding and above all if they do not believe strongly in punishment in the life hereafter then they can not control themselves.
The greed of human being is as infinite as of the size of universe
When greed reaches out of control then human being lose the rational judgment, become oblivious about the consequences. This is a universal truth that greed is a sin and that sin, in many cases, leads towards fatal consequences. Boundless greed for money, wealth, nice house, mutual unfair affairs of men and women make a human being out of conscience in most of the cases and consequently breeds thousands of sins, bring human being at the level of wild creatures. Most of the people can not escape of acute attraction of those latent vices. Perhaps only because of that people who are the owner of the purest moral character and the honest merchant shall be awarded the best among all seven categories of people sheltered under the heavenly shade in the day of resurrection.
But this is also a whole truth that there are many people in this world who do not sacrifice or sell their honesty, integrity, morality in exchange of infinite amount of money and even in exchange of their own lives. Still now majority of world population are honest and good in nature. As a matter of fact, it does not require a big number of bad people in order to spoil a family, society as well as to create anarchy in the whole world. Only a single terrorist could destroy the overall peace and stability of a country. Similarly filthy attitude, vulgarism and reckless lifestyle of a single man or woman could contaminate the whole world very effectively in this age of Information Technology.
As the greatest creature of this universe the human being must control their latent greed hiding within. Crossing the tolerable limit of greed inevitably hurts other’s interest, creates anarchy, discrimination and instability in the society and violates basic human rights. And that level of greed must be controlled by all of us.
