ourworld is becoming severely violent and intolerant day by day. Couple of decades have passed since this globe reduced to a global village where each and every significant event goes viral through various online social media and influences the whole world more or less. Peace and stability is becoming highly vulnerable. Polarisation in political ideology, dividing people on the basis of race, religious belief, ethnicity, social status is the matter of great concern. As a result of that, balance of power has come under a new threat that might lead human civilisation to a fatal nuclear war. Some events are also coming into being very fast with a new format and are shaping the world more significantly than ever. Some of those are populism, terrorism, ethnic cleansing, unjustified invasion, extreme nationalism, authoritarianism, war migrants and many more.
Entertainment must be healthy, modest, free from ferocious violence and also free from promoting immoral human relationship. But unfortunately, in most of the cases, in the name of entertainment unethical human relationship, violence, murder and corruption are being glamorised through drama series and cinema. Many young boys and girls, especially the teenagers are being attracted desperately considering all of those misconducts as heroic stuff. They try to apply the performance of their favourite hero or heroin in their practical life. No person with minimum conscience can deny that today’s cinema and drama series are highly responsible for the devastating moral degradation among young generations. Some TV channels are highly glamorising adulteration, dishonesty and contaminating family ties, morality, ethical and social values by various innovative ways. But once upon a time cinema was a very powerful media for creating social awareness and values and could change the society very effectively. But at the present time, in many cases, cinema has become the pathway to all sorts of abusion.
This is a harsh reality that excessive and unnecessary exposure of women’s body, glamour and the demonstration of harmful human nature in the cinema by some greedy producers and directors are creating adverse effects on human mind, especially on the teenagers that are acting as a catalyst in sexual harassment, eve-teasing, rape, murder, vulgarism, abusion and some other things like that. If we investigate into the root causes behind most of the criminal offences and misconducts taking place in this world, we would find that there is a presence of woman and money. To be hundred per cent honest, none can deny this reality.
if we look into the human social history, we would find that there have been a certain portion of people
who are always blackmailed in the society emotionally or ideologically. If any one raises voice against crime he or she then goes under the threat of corrupted and terrorist groups. If some people protest against vulgarism, adulteration they are termed as anti-progressiveness, anti-development and against free-thinking or personal freedom. On the other hand, if some people stand favouring justice and rule of law, they are neglected severely. If they protest against any injustice they are classified and coloured as an opposition, conspirator or insurgent
Double standard and hypocrisy are prevailing everywhere. The same person who is lecturing against crime, injustice, rape, eve-teasing, sexual harassment is also patronising the root causes of those misconducts directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously and sometimes intentionally. Such type of double standard encourages criminal activities in society and if it continues then crimes can never be rooted out from the society. But this is a whole truth that the root causes of sexual harassment, eve-teasing, rape and murder are universal. Those causes exist irrespective of time, place, manner, nation, culture or race.
Morality has already been exiled. In the past most of the families were combined and children would get primary lessons of morality from their parents, grand parents, teachers and many other close relatives of a combined family. On the other hand, the great profession of teaching has become a full-fledged business. A teacher does not teach in the class properly. They are more interested in private coaching than to teach in the class. In this way students are being blackmailed and bound to go to the private coaching centres. Similarly, if the parents are corrupted or engaged in illegal income then there might be a few or no chances of their children to become good human beings. This is an abstract matter that comes as an inevitable natural punishment. This punishment can never be formulised by any scientific theory.
Some people consider the western world as their role model. But what is the reality in the western world? Crime, gun violence, adulteration and rape have been institutionalised there. Their family ties have collapsed substantially where a significant number of people have no interest in marriage and in upbringing a child. But they prefer live together and to some extend single motherhood or fatherhood. Rape is not news at all, vulgarism and adulteries are the open secret in many cases, and the number of teenage single mother is increasing alarmingly. Unfortunately, some people take those scenarios very easy. But think, if there is no marriage, no new generation and no family ties, no upbringing of children then what would be the fate of human civilisation. As an outcome we are witnessing that parents are being murdered by their own children and children are being murdered by their own mother or father.
At present child pornography is the most dangerous threat to the human society. In this age of smart phone the whole world is under the grip even of a child that are causing over smart moral degradation. Every matter is easily accessible in the online virtual world. The degradation of morality among teenagers is increasing alarmingly. Gang culture is spreading among teenagers as a symbol of heroism. They are organising gangs for committing various immoral and antisocial activities. This is undeniable that in this age of information technology even vulgarism of a single woman could contaminate the whole world and similarly the vulgarism of a single man might also bring adverse effects in the society. Unfortunately all of those are being promoted, patronised in the name of art, culture, creativity, progressiveness, freedom of speech and free-thinking.
As a result of that we are witnessing some adverse changes in the human society all over the world. Family ties becoming very much vulnerable in today’s world. Combined family structure has been reduced substantially to a nuclear family with one or two children. Therefore, children are feeling very lonely and cannot learn social etiquette, manner and values. If both father and mother of a nuclear family are service holders then the situation might be disastrous. Their children, in many cases, become unsocial, addicted and engage themselves in various crime, violence and antisocial activities being deprived of sufficient accompany and proper guidance of the parents.
Anarchy, injustice and absence of rule of law create frustration among ordinary people. There is no exemplary punishment against any severe crime and misconduct. Prejudices, nepotism political motivation and injustice have been institutionalised in many countries. The confidence of ordinary people over judiciary system has been reduced alarmingly. All of those circumstances are making many people bound to take the law in their own hands. People are also becoming severely intolerant even with a very trivial matter. As a result, a humble thief or snatchers are beaten to death, but the giant looters of public money and national wealth are given honour and they are roaming freely with ultimate arrogance.
There is no equitable distribution of wealth in the society. The gap between rich and poor is being expanded day by day. Capitalist and consumerist society is relentlessly persuading the maximisation of profit. Poor are being deprived of basic human rights. Demand for justice has been reduced to a crying in the wilderness. Consequently the poor are becoming very much intolerant to the upper society and the highly privileged classes.
In the name of freedom of expression, personal freedom and free-thinking no civilised person can break morality, social etiquette, manner and norms. One cannot do the same behaviour with his/her brother or sister, mother or father as he or she does with his/her so called boyfriend or girlfriend.
Every religion of this world is against any type of crime, corruption, violence or adulteration. But some people treat religion as against any development, progressiveness, women empowerment and so on. But if that so called development, progressiveness cannot bring peace, harmony, and stability in the society why should we cry for that progressiveness?
Rationality and conscience have made human being different from other animals. There is no alternative way for the human being but to uphold morality, rationality, honesty and trustworthiness. If we want to keep this planet peaceful, prosperous, modest and free from wars and crimes by the next generation, all of us have to stand against all sorts of crime, abusion and violence; otherwise our beloved green planet shall be reduced to a hell.
